Today, Eduard Pallejà, the Agbar Foundation’s director, Marta Subirà, Secretary for the Environment and Sustainability, and Juanjo Malràs, chairman of Els Ports Natural Park, attended the handing over of 15 laptops by the Agbar Foundation for the recently created Els Ports Natural Park Training Centre.
The natural park’s accreditation as a training centre will allow it to teach modules on environmental interpretation and education, the aim of which is to facilitate the incorporation of the currently unemployed, offer new job opportunities to the local population, improve professionals’ training and promote ecotourism, increasing its value as a activity related to protected natural areas such as Els Ports Natural Park.
The 15 laptops will be used for the training activities taking place in the three centres that the natural park has, in the municipalities of Roquetes, La Sénia and Prat del Compte. Thanks to this initiative, a significant number of people will be able to benefit from training in the field of environmental education. Professional qualification to provide said training has been certified by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia.
The donation of the laptops is part of the Agbar Foundation Board of Trustees’ dedication and commitment to environmental education and protection.
